Mt Rainier is one of the most coveted and sought after climbs in North America. This dormant volcano offers a physical and emotional challenge on the highest peak in Washington state.
July 26 – August 1, 2017
You will need the ability to carry a 40+ pound pack and hike for 6-10 hours continuously.
Airfare to Portland not included but all other expenses taken care of by CFH.
Climbers provide their own gear, however, let us know if you need assistance.
July 26 – Fly into Portland, OR. Rest Day. We will be picked up at the airport by Rare Earth Adventures, who will drive us to the mountain. Overnight in Portland hotel. Meeting with guides and gear check.
July 27 – drive to trailhead Whittaker Bunkhouse and overnight.
July 28 – Drive to Paradise trail head. Climb to Camp Muir 10,188 ft.
July 29 – Rest day and review of snow skills + learning/reviewing climbing skills.
July 30 – 1am start. Summit attempt at 14,450 ft. Return to Camp Muir.
July 31 – Hike out. Celebrate. Possible to catch redeye out of Portland or overnight in Portland.
- August 1 – Depart Portland airport.
