Day 1: Fly to Phoenix, try to be in Phoenix around noon. Drive to the North Rim (6hrs). Another option would be to fly into Flagstaff, AZ. Less drive time but most likely more time traveling in the air to get to Flagstaff.
- Will either camp or stay in cabins on the North Rim this evening
- Prepare for hike in the evening after dinner
Day: 2: Early morning wake up (0600hrs) and start down the North Kaibab Trailhead. We’ll walk from the North Kaibab Trailhead to the Bright Angel Trailhead which is called the Rim-to-Rim Traverse. The total distance is approximately 26miles. The traverse will most likely take 12-17 hours (6pm-11pm) to complete for most our crew.
- We’ll end at the Bright Angel Trailhead which is about a ¼ mile from here we will stay.
- As folks finish the traverse down, the remaining guides will have brought gear and have set up for overnight on the north rim
Day 3: Wake up at your leisure. Tour more of the South Rim if folks would like the time. Depart the South Rim for Phoenix, AZ around 2pm (4.5 drive). Folks could arrange for Red-eye flights on this day. Check into hotels.
Day 4: Depart Home.
